Wyatt's Story
Wyatt Andrew Brownell is an actor, musician, songwriter and playwright based in Lubbock, Texas. He's been performing professionally since 2021 and is best known for playing Jerry Lee Lewis in multiple regional productions of the Tony Award winning musical Million Dollar Quartet. Since childhood, Wyatt always had a passion for telling stories. He first found his creative voice as a teen, when he began playing guitar and piano, writing songs, and performing in plays for his high school theatre department.
Wyatt continued his passion for performing in college, studying acting at West Texas A&M University. Since graduating, Wyatt has continued acting professionally, playing a diverse range of characters from Shakespeare villains to comic relief in musicals.
It was also at West Texas A&M where Wyatt started writing new theatrical works of his own. For his senior BFA project, he co-wrote the book, music and lyrics for a one act piece, titled BFA Project: The Musical! which was first performed at the Jerry Williams Acting Studio in April of 2022. Since then, he's continued writing new works. His current project, Man of the People: The Trials of Huey Long, was most recently performed in concert at Chicago's Chopin Theatre as part of the 2025 Chicago Musical Theatre Festival.
